PERSONAL TAX SENIOR in NORTHAMPTON, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE – JO22200

Accountancy Elite are pleased to again be partnered with a forward thinking modern firm of accountants with plenty of history behind them in Northampton. Our client is looking for a personal tax senior to take responsibility for the firms income tax work.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
oAttend to specifically assigned client’s taxation affairs (including trust returns). On a timely basis, identify priorities and review/prepare work in accordance with Inland Revenue and Firm’s deadlines.
oLiaise with clients regarding taxation work to be carried out by the Firm.
oPrepare/agree time/cost budgets.
oWhere appropriate attend planning meetings with the partner. Confirm approach and agreement of taxation work.
oLiaise with partners to plan staff allocation.
oLiaise with client and where appropriate agree timetables.

oSupervise/carry out fieldwork in accordance with the Firm’s recognised procedures.
oSupervise/complete the fieldwork according to the pre-determined timetable.
oAllocate, supervise and review the work of assistants.
oWhere the fieldwork is not progressing in line with expected timetable, liaise with manager/partner.
oGive such on the job training as is necessary to ensure that the assistants understand and complete the work allocated to them.
oSupervise/carry out such accountancy work as agreed with the client.
oEnsure that each personal tax client’s affairs are dealt with accurately and that correspondence, returns and advice given comply with legal and taxation requirements.
oPerform personal tax planning and prepare reports as directed. Agree the final draft with client/partner.
oAs directed, review/complete personal tax work, subject only to outstanding points that require partner attention.
oArrange the preparation, completion and distribution of final personal taxation computations and returns.
oEnsure signed personal taxation returns are obtained.
oWhen required, the completion of notices of elections, etc, should be arranged.
oEnsure that personal tax software is up to date, fully operational and properly maintained. Ensure the effective installation and use of taxation related software, including books on screen, etc.
oPrepare staff evaluation form for conduct of own work together with budget to actual time reconciliation. Prepare staff evaluation form for assistants.

oLiaise with the manager/partner on submission of the bill to highlight areas of additional work for separate billing to the client.

oConfer with the partners to review staffing requirements.
oReview records and after consultation with manager/partner, press clients to submit overdue records and returns.

oClient billing – to actively prepare for processing client bills by liaising with partners to ensure that the Firm’s monthly billing timetable is met.

Candidate Attributes:

·ATT/CTA qualified or QBE.
·Salary of between £25K – £34K (Depending on experience)
·Very compliance focused.
·Possess good IT & communication skills.
·Ability to work to strict deadlines and within budgets.
